The Long Now

A colony simulation below, a wizard’s castle above.

Game prototype · in development

The Long Now explores colony-simulation storytelling with civilization-scale technological progression. Above the settlement is the floating castle of The Wizard, with rooms, small games and secrets to discover. Moving between the castle and the mortals below is the core idea.

The Godot project continues to evolve through pixel-art, animation and scenery work. The gallery preserves earlier prototypes, including the same river scene dressed for different eras and later castle and settlement interiors.

Highlights

  • A settlement and a floating wizard castle within one game concept
  • Rooms, small games and interactive details in the castle
  • Historical medieval, industrial and far-future scene studies

One scene, three eras

The medieval era of The Long Now, seen from above: a pixel-art river with a wooden bridge and a campfire on a sandbank, two huts, crops and a pink blossom tree on one bank, and a two-towered stone gatehouse on the other. The same scene dressed for its industrial era: three brick factories with smoking chimneys, one of them over the river, and a metal rail across the water where the bridge was.The same scene in the far-future Dyson era: golden orbital rings and radiating constructs above the river.
